VISITING ARTIST LECTURE & RECEPTION: APRIL 20, 2020
Rutstein is invited as a visiting artist to University of Washington to give a lecture and participate in an exhibition showcasing the work created and inspired by a multi-disciplinary expedition at sea with The Ocean Memory Project off the coast of Washington & British Columbia in the Salish Sea.
Onboard the R/V Rachel Carson, members of the Ocean Memory Project engaged in research at the interface of art and science to begin to understand how the effects of environmental changes are recorded and expressed in ocean memories. Rutstein will be exhibiting works she created while on board the research vessel in addition to larger work created in her Philadelphia studio.
