Ranging from microscopic vistas of meteorites to microbial networks in the deep sea, Rebecca Rutstein: Sublime Nature incorporates imagery Rutstein developed during residencies with planetary geologists and oceanographers around the world. The exhibition contributes to programming surrounding Delaware County Community College’s 2022-2023 College-wide Reading selection, Kimberly Nicholas’s Under the Sky We Make, which spurs readers to grapple with the realities of climate change and embrace their own role in combatting the crisis. Within artworks that connect scientists, the artistic community, and the public, Rutstein emerges as an ambassador whose artwork addresses the most pressing issue of our century.
