Bridgette Mayer Gallery is pleased to announce that the U.S. Department of State’s Art in Embassies Program has permanently acquired Rutstein’s painting Infinitely Visible for the U.S. Consulate in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The art collection in Chiang Mai will bring together contemporary art by U.S. and Thai artists around shared themes.

Art in Embassies (AIE) creates vital cross-cultural dialogue and fosters mutual understanding through the visual arts and dynamic artist exchanges. Seventy years ago, The Museum of Modern Art first envisioned this global visual arts program and President John F. Kennedy formalized it at the U.S. Department of State in 1963. AIE advances cultural diplomacy through artist exchanges and the presentation of works by outstanding American and international artists to audiences around the world. Going forward AIE will continue to engage, educate, and inspire global audiences, showing how art can transcend national borders and build connections among peoples.
